Founded in 2021, Testudo was created to support a thriving ecosystem for studio artists at pivotal stages in their careers. Inspired by our own journey as art collectors, Testudo aimed to connect both new and experienced collectors with a diverse selection of contemporary artists. Through extensive content and a digital model prioritizing transparency and accessibility, we worked to break down traditional barriers of exclusivity in the art world.

While Testudo no longer sells artwork, we have chosen to preserve the site as an archive for the editorial work produced during our years of operation. This archive includes our Studio Spotlight series, featuring over 25 in-house short documentaries that highlight the artistic practices of our partner artists. It also contains interviews with emerging and mid-career artists, exhibition essays, and guides for beginning art collectors. We hope these resources remain engaging and useful.

We extend heartfelt thanks to our dedicated team who crafted much of this editorial content, the artists who collaborated with us, and the freelance art writers who partnered with us along the way.
